2026 CURRICULUM CHANGE INFORMATION NOTE (SEPTEMBER 18, 2026):
a. The 2025 curriculum has been updated (and the new 2026 curriculum has been updated) to include two compulsory courses, “Co-Curricular Learning I” (COL 201-Co-Curricular Learning 1) (0 0 0-ECTS 1) and “Co-Curricular Learning II” (COL 202-Co-Curricular Learning 2) (0 0 0-ECTS 1), each worth one credit, in the second-year program.
b. The ECTS values of ARCH 233 Construction Systems I (in the Fall semester of the 2025 curriculum) and ARCH 234 Construction Systems II (in the Spring semester of the second year), which were included in the 2025 curriculum, have been reduced by 1 credit each, and their ECTS credits have been updated to 3 credits. c. These updates to the 2025 curriculum will be implemented starting with students who are subject to the 2025 curriculum and who started their first year in 2025-26, beginning with the fall semester of 2026-2027 (students in their first and second years in the 2026 and 2027 academic years are subject to this updated curriculum).
d. Students who were subject to the pre-2025 curriculum and who took and failed the two courses (ARCH 233 Construction Systems I and ARCH 234 Construction Systems II) with this ECTS change before the 2026-27 academic year will take these courses with the new (reduced) ECTS values specified in the updated 2025 curriculum (2026 curriculum) starting from the 2026-27 academic year. Students in this situation are required to take the “Co-Curricular Learning I” and/or “Co-Curricular Learning II” courses.
Furthermore, students in this situation (those who took and failed ARCH 233 Construction Systems I and ARCH 234 Construction Systems II before the 2026-27 academic year) will have a total of 2 ECTS credit deficit for each of Arch 233 and Arch 234 due to the reduction of 1 ECTS credit in each course in the previous curriculum change in 2025. Therefore, it is important for these students to take an additional departmental or faculty elective course to avoid experiencing an ECTS credit deficit. Monitoring this issue by students and their advisors will be crucial.
(Example: If a student enrolled in a curriculum prior to 2025 failed ARCH 233 before the 2026-2027 academic year and will retake it in 2026-27, it is mandatory for this student to take “Extracurricular Learning I” in addition to Arch 233, and it is strongly recommended that they also take a departmental or faculty elective course, as they will still have an ECTS credit deficit.)
