Research assistant Dr. H. Nur Özkan Öztürk was awarded the METU Graduate School of Science and Technology’s Thesis Award for Contributions to Society and Education for her doctoral dissertation, “Topography as a Performative Entity: Transformation of Karakusunlar, Ankara,” published in October 2024.
The doctoral research, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ela Alanyalı Aral of the METU Faculty of Architecture, also earned her the 2022 Research Award from the VEKAM Ankara Research Center.
